I was so excited to be able to shoot Dayari and Joel’s Orlando wedding in October. Even though, I didn’t meet them until the day of the wedding, it was still so easy shooting them! As you can tell, they are very photogenic and VERY sweet couple! I enjoyed being a part of their beautiful day.

Michael and Megan Engaged! | Stephie Joy Photography

So this little couple is close to my heart. Megan is marrying my cousin Michael next May! For their engagement session, we got the privilege of the VIP treatment at Everbank Field. Both Megan and Michael are big sports fans so Megan pulled some strings and we were able to get into the stadium for part of their session! We went all around from the skyboxes to the field. It was exciting to be in the stadium when no one else was. Except, did I mention the players were there for practice? Ok….we only saw them in passing but it was still cool! We got some pretty awesome images despite the rain in the beginning of our time together.

The sunset, thanks to the rain beforehand, was amazing! It kept changing by the minute. Turning into a spectacular show….We could not have gotten luckier for this session! From VIP, NFL treatment to an amazing fire-filled sunset, Megan and Michael will have amazing pictures to remember forever! <3 I cannot wait for their wedding at Crosswater Hall in Nocatee, Fl.

Congratulations on your engagement you two, and I love y’all! <3

Kiss Wedding Books…Part Deux | Stephie Joy Weddings

So… you may remember my other blog post about Kiss Wedding Books. This would be part two of that story. Kiss is awesome because it’s simple. With 7 colors, 3 sizes, and 2 sizes…Kiss is amazing. I am writing this post about their linen style album. The photo quality is exactly the same, with gorgeous colors. The differences are the thickness of the covers, and pages. I think both styles are an amazing way to showcase your beautiful wedding photographs! <3

Brett + Kelli Anniversary Rock the Dress | Stephie Joy Photography

I met Brett and Kelli last year when I second shot their wedding at the Club Continental in Orange Park. The contacted me this year to shoot a “Rock the Dress | Couple’s Edition” for their one year anniversary. they chose the beautiful city of St. Augustine as the backdrop for their awesome images. I personally love when couple’s do sessions like this after their wedding because they are more relaxed than at the wedding (no matter how chill you may think you are). The photographer, bride and groom also get to be more creative in a two hour session than in the 30-40 minutes they may have set aside for their couples portrait on wedding day.

Their session is beautiful! so here are some of my faves…and yes scroll all the way down, because the ocean is involved.

Jill + Brent Married | Nocatee, St. Augustine Wedding Photography

Last weekend I was able to second shoot Jill and Brent’s wedding with my friend Szarmack photography. I showed up to the new wedding venue in Nocatee Florida, Crosswater Hall to see Jill’s style was rich with gold and deep purple. It was beautiful! Very pretty to photograph. Her awesome caterer’s, D’vine Cuisine had prepared yummy meal, and had an awesome COFFEE BAR, my FAVE!! Here are a few of my favorites!

Jill’s make-up by the lovely Tracey Upson…she does a beautiful bridal look that is flawless in the photos.

So the next set of photos are of the beautiful couple and the killer sunset we had that night. It was awesome! We fought through the bugs and sweaty heat, but I knew the images were going to be awesome. We always love when couples are open to getting the creative shots. After all these are what you are going to have to remember your day!

Abbey + Shawn Rock the Dress (well Abbey does, anyway)

Abbey and Shawn got married in November of last year HERE. They wait until it was spring to do their Rock the Dress session. And may I say, this is why I think ALL couples should do a “Day After” or “Rock the Dress” session. You are relaxed, married, and ready to have fun! We went to St. Augustine and walked around the back streets. I LOVE the scenery in St. Augustine. Here are some of Abbey and Shawn’s shots from the day.

ok…I have had a vision for this shoot a while now. It’s a bridal session with a rock-n-country twist. I love how romantic and edgy the images are. The clothing/style design is by me. Hair/make-up by Faythe Mesic. Model is Mandi. Jacksonville, Florida has some great landscapes, and this location is just that. I loved all 300 images, but will limit it to 35 LOL. Here is my vision of “Country Strong”

My Epiphanie! | Stephie Joy Photography {photo fun!}

Just in time for Christmas……..Ok…so I have been in search of a camera bag FOR-EV-VER {The Sandlot}. I even purchased another big name bag and returned it just before trying the Epiphanie “Lola” bag. I needed a super functional bag that could carry all my lenses, for those fun shoots and day trips with the kids. Not only did the bag need to be functional, but it obviously had to be ultra PRETTY!! When I first started looking I came across Epiphanie bags. The Lola only came in red, not my favorite color…but I loved the style. So I kept looking….FINALLY! I saw that Epiphanie came out with two other colors. Black and Turquoise. AHHHH!!! Turquoise is one of my favorite colors! So I ordered it with fingers crossed that it would be as awesome as it looked.

It is! I’m glad to say, I LOVE THIS BAG!!!! It is beautiful, and functional. The materials are soft and comfortable to the touch. The interior fabric is soft and ultra padded to protect my investments. There are so many dividers that can be moved and configured to fit almost any amount of equipment and personal effects. With two external pockets, and one interior zippered pocket, there is enough room for my keys, money and other small items I may want to keep out of sight.

There are two shoulder straps for carrying over one shoulder like a handbag, and one cross-body strap with super comfy padding for when your shooting. the bag is pretty wide so it stands far off the body, but it’s not a problem for me. With a zippered closure, all my equipment is safe. The opening is smaller, so it may be a little tough to get the lenses out super fast, unless you arrange the pockets to help with that.

Overall…this bag is a WIN!! I love the color, the style, the comfort, the protectiveness, and how much I can fit. I LOVE my new Epiphanie LOLA. I hope this little review helps you in your search for the perfect camera bag. Now, on with the pictures! I wouldn’t be a photographer if I didn’t give my bag a proper photo shoot. -Stephie

This is how the bag comes configured….all the little dividers are moveable.

In the bag…Camera body, 16-35mm, 50mm, and 580 speedlight. I threw some things in to see how they fit. …Oh and there were a few spots to spare.

Here is the beautiful wedding of Melinda and Kipi. The got married at the waterfront Florida Yacht Club in Jacksonville, Florida. They happened to get married the same day as the air show in town. So on this work day, I got to see cool planes and a gorgeous wedding! Melinda and Kipi are so in love and their photos show it. Enjoy some of their day.

This cake looked too pretty to eat…..but it was GOOD!!

Yes, it did rain 5 minutes before she walked out…but that’s good luck!

Cj + Rachel Engaged! {Orange Park Wedding Photographer}

Okay, just to prepare you…this is a long post. I loved almost all the images I took from this session. Cj and Rachel were so naturally in love, I just kept capturing all these great moments. Enjoy a few of my FAVES!!

I loved this old house…..We didn’t know the person who lived there, so we only snapped a few quick shots there.

This was just some of the laughter from today! They are so cute together.

The great thing about this session, was that I didn’t have to tell them to kiss ever! All the kissing and lovey doveiness was genuine!

More from the shoot hosted by Make-up Artist Faythe. She had many brides and bride’s maids in different designer gowns model for us to shoot. I love doing events like this, because there’s no pressure. It’s just fun, and great networking with others in my field!

It was a chilly, yet sunny day in North Florida, on the beautiful Amelia Island. We arrived at the Ribalt Club, and formed our shoot groups, and started shooting. A few hours later, I came home with these beautiful images!!! I was so excited.

It was beautifully overcast with some bursts of sun! Best for awesome pictures. =)

This dress reminded me of a mermaid…I love the sparkle and the color!

The purple feathers in her hair really go well with the green dress. I love how funky, yet feminine it is.

The orchids in her hair really was beautiful! I love the organic elements that were added to the glam in this shoot.

Engagement Session Winner! : {Jacksonville Wedding Photographer}

Last week I had a contest on FACEBOOK for a FREE engagement session.

I had people entering their stories for the reasons they wanted this session. I have chosen a winning couple.

Danielle Chang and Omar Valentin! YAY!

Here is their story…

My name is Danielle Chang. My good friend Kelley Cox told me about you looking for a couple for the “Rock the Dress” or “Engagement Session”. At first when she told me about the submitting the story part, I was a little apprehensive. It is always so hard for me to write about myself. But then I figured, what the hell, and decided to go for it!

My fiance’s name is Omar Valentin. We are having a destination wedding in St. Lucia on 05/29/10…I am so excited! We wanted to do something stress free and low key. We were both raised by amazing single mothers and did not want to burden our moms with the cost of a huge lavish wedding. So, we decided to invite anyone who can join us in paradise to witness our nuptials. Omar and I will be together 7 years this April. We met through mutual friends and both were coming out of previous relationships when we met. I remember thinking he was a total jerk right before we started dating, but for once in my life, I was glad to be wrong

I knew he was someone I could be with for a long time after I returned from my study abroad trip to France. We were only dating 2 months before I went on my month long trip. He was completely amazing through the entire experience. We both purchased journals for each other and wrote in them during our time apart, then exchanged journals when I returned home. He was completely happy for me and encouraged me to do explore and see the world, and I absolutely loved that.

Now 7 years later we are the best of friends and lovers too. We still have the same attitude as we did in the beginning, be supportive, encouraging, and always cherish the time we spend together. We love to travel, ride bikes at the beach, enjoy great food, family, and friends. We always have “Chicken Wing Friday”, I look forward to it every week, it has become a staple for us. We are just really down to earth people who enjoy a good time, no matter what it is. That is pretty much us in a nutshell. Good luck with the selection process! (Of course, I hope you pick us!)
