To start, this wedding is very special to me. Miranda is one of my best friends from high school. I love her! We always had the best times and what I love most of all, is making her laugh. I’m such a goofball and always cracked us up. We had the silliest inside jokes (of which I will not bore you). Miranda is one of those friends who is so re-freshing to be around, with her positive outlook on most situations. I love being around her and I’m glad we kept in touch up to today. I was so excited when she asked me to shoot her wedding. I loved being a part of her special day she married Adam. I’m so glad to see her happy, even if Adam’s job did take her all the way to Chicago!

I can’t wait for the next steps in her and Adam’s life and wish the best for their new family.

Leo + Eunice | Stephie Joy Photography Engagements

Leo and Eunice met me in Atlantic Beach Last week. The day before was a gorgeous 75 degree florida winter day. However, you must know the weather in Florida is never consistent. On the day of Leo and Eunice’s beach shoot…it happend to drop into the low 40s!! Super cold for me, from the South and for them, being from Puerto Rico! Needless to say, we all froze! Thankfully, the sky was amazingly clear and it wasn’t too windy.

Leo and Eunice needed little direction from me…they were so natural in front of the camera. I think I may have only told them…”pretend to like each other”. haha….jk. Here is there Atlantic Beach engagement shoot. And I hope their March wedding this year is an awesome one!!!

Leo also surprised Eunice with a beautiful necklace…..And her reaction is priceless!

Christy and Edward were married at the beautiful Palm Valley Gardens October 28, 2011. I loved all Christy’s details and the cake was amazing by Metro Custom Cakes. She looked gorgeous! Not to mention her drool-worthy Louboutin shoes! Flawless make-up by Faythe Mesic!

Katie and BJ Engaged | Stephie Joy Wedding Photographer

I first met Katie at Starbucks back in May of this year. And we hit it off first thing. She has the sweetest personality, and is always in a cheerful mood. I love every time I get to talk to her. Then I finally met BJ at The Wedding Exhibit Bridal Show in August, both seemed excited for their engagement session, and so was I. As Katie and I talked about where we would do her session, she wanted something romantic and vintage. So, we ended up in the beautiful city of St. Augustine! I always love coming down here. It’s a fun challenge to find different little places to shoot. I was so excited when we came across this little PINK house!

If you know me, you know I’ll always love the couples who get IN a body of water for a picture!!

I can not wait for Katie and BJ’s wedding this November!!! <3

Michael and Megan Engaged! | Stephie Joy Photography

So this little couple is close to my heart. Megan is marrying my cousin Michael next May! For their engagement session, we got the privilege of the VIP treatment at Everbank Field. Both Megan and Michael are big sports fans so Megan pulled some strings and we were able to get into the stadium for part of their session! We went all around from the skyboxes to the field. It was exciting to be in the stadium when no one else was. Except, did I mention the players were there for practice? Ok….we only saw them in passing but it was still cool! We got some pretty awesome images despite the rain in the beginning of our time together.

The sunset, thanks to the rain beforehand, was amazing! It kept changing by the minute. Turning into a spectacular show….We could not have gotten luckier for this session! From VIP, NFL treatment to an amazing fire-filled sunset, Megan and Michael will have amazing pictures to remember forever! <3 I cannot wait for their wedding at Crosswater Hall in Nocatee, Fl.

Amanda + Joel | Stephie Joy Weddings Orange Park Club Continental

Amanda and Joel…..from the first time I met Amanda at Panera Bread with her super sweet mom, I knew we were perfect for each other! haha….Meaning we had so much in common. Everything we talked about was so fun; I could not wait for her wedding! Amanda has the best personality….from our bridal meeting at Panera, to her Club Continental wedding, Amanda’s personality was very addicting and beautiful! She laughed the whole day and was radiant throughout. I loved all the silly faces she would make, and how the chemistry between she and Joel was so great.

We had some down time before the ceremony, so in lue of a “first look”, I suggested a “first touch”…It was so exciting! The couple talked a little, but I think she was so excited, Amanda couldn’t say much. But after Joel left, she teared up from all the emotion…The moment was beautiful!

May I say, Metro Custom Cakes out-did themselves with the yummy cakes! And yes, that is a giant Kit Kat Bar cake. “Break me off a piece of that please!!!” The music at this wedding was so amazing! Jason with Footloose Entertainment played everything from Michael Jackson, to Journey, to The Backstreet Boys….haha I couldn’t help but dance myself. Like I said Amanda and I were made for each other.

Congratulations Amanda and Joel! You two are perfect for each other and I’m excited for y’all and your new life together! <3 sjp

Brett + Kelli Anniversary Rock the Dress | Stephie Joy Photography

I met Brett and Kelli last year when I second shot their wedding at the Club Continental in Orange Park. The contacted me this year to shoot a “Rock the Dress | Couple’s Edition” for their one year anniversary. they chose the beautiful city of St. Augustine as the backdrop for their awesome images. I personally love when couple’s do sessions like this after their wedding because they are more relaxed than at the wedding (no matter how chill you may think you are). The photographer, bride and groom also get to be more creative in a two hour session than in the 30-40 minutes they may have set aside for their couples portrait on wedding day.

Their session is beautiful! so here are some of my faves…and yes scroll all the way down, because the ocean is involved.

New Macro fun!

Sooo… I just got a new lens…no wedding photographer is complete with out a macro lens. Ok, that’s not true, but it sure is an awesome compliment to my camera bag. The second I got home from seeing Transformers 3, My shiny new B&H box was sitting on the front step. Thank you UPS man!! I break open the box and my own wedding rings to try it out. Wedding ring detail shots are so fun to try and make interesting. There are many things one can do to add interest. Here are a couple of my first tries with the new lens (sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro for Canon).

I am super excited about this couple’s wedding coming up this month. From the first time I met Amanda at Panera Bread for her bridal consult, I knew we would hit it off! Amanda’s personality is so bright and vibrant, she is going to make a beautiful bride! Then on to their engagement session. Amanda and Joel are so fun together! Their chemistry is awesome. I love couples where I don’t even have to coach them on posing. I just told them to pretend I wasn’t there, and act themselves. And they did just that! I can not wait for their fun filled Club Continental wedding in Orange PArk, Florida.

Last month I shot some images for Kendall. A Christian music artist in Orlando, Florida. She is recording an album of contemporary christian rock. Kendall is the sweetest girl! She was in town singing at a local prayer meeting and we decided that was a good time to meet in Downtown Jacksonville to shoot her album. Thankfully, the storms from earlier that day subsided enough so we could get some awesome shots. Here are a few of of my favorites.

Jill + Brent Married | Nocatee, St. Augustine Wedding Photography

Last weekend I was able to second shoot Jill and Brent’s wedding with my friend Szarmack photography. I showed up to the new wedding venue in Nocatee Florida, Crosswater Hall to see Jill’s style was rich with gold and deep purple. It was beautiful! Very pretty to photograph. Her awesome caterer’s, D’vine Cuisine had prepared yummy meal, and had an awesome COFFEE BAR, my FAVE!! Here are a few of my favorites!

So the next set of photos are of the beautiful couple and the killer sunset we had that night. It was awesome! We fought through the bugs and sweaty heat, but I knew the images were going to be awesome. We always love when couples are open to getting the creative shots. After all these are what you are going to have to remember your day!

Abbey + Shawn Rock the Dress (well Abbey does, anyway)

Abbey and Shawn got married in November of last year HERE. They wait until it was spring to do their Rock the Dress session. And may I say, this is why I think ALL couples should do a “Day After” or “Rock the Dress” session. You are relaxed, married, and ready to have fun! We went to St. Augustine and walked around the back streets. I LOVE the scenery in St. Augustine. Here are some of Abbey and Shawn’s shots from the day.

The first time I met this adorable couple at Starbucks, I knew I’d love shooting their wedding. They are so in LOVE!! It’s hard not to see it when they are around each other. They planned a nice sized wedding in Ponte Vedra in April. But sometimes wedding plannning isn’t always black and white…due to some last minute changes, Stephanie called me needing to move her wedding to my next opening. Which was in a couple weeks. They cut everything that they had originally planned. But sometimes last minute planning makes for the sweetest and nice weddings. Overlooking the ocean, Stephanie and Russ got married at the Ponte Vedra Lodge and Club, in a quaint little courtyard. It was beautiful!
