I got to shoot my first proposal! Mike contacted me a week or so before the big day to set up a surprise proposal for Victoria. She had wanted a couple session when he was in town for leave anyway, so they planned to have their session in St. Augustine the day after he got home. Little did Tori know, Mike had asked me to capture him asking her to be his wife! He wanted it to be perfect, and I don’t think it could be any more so. She was so shocked and excited…..needless to say, I may have been just as nervous. lol….

These images are very special to me because Victoria is my cousin. She and my sister grew up together not only as cousins, but also best friends. It was so amazing to see Tori get swept off her feet by this awesome guy! Here is a sneak peek…

I first met Katie at Starbucks back in May of this year. And we hit it off first thing. She has the sweetest personality, and is always in a cheerful mood. I love every time I get to talk to her. Then I finally met BJ at The Wedding Exhibit Bridal Show in August, both seemed excited for their engagement session, and so was I. As Katie and I talked about where we would do her session, she wanted something romantic and vintage. So, we ended up in the beautiful city of St. Augustine! I always love coming down here. It’s a fun challenge to find different little places to shoot. I was so excited when we came across this little PINK house!

Love the vintage books that BJ brought for the session.

If you know me, you know I’ll always love the couples who get IN a body of water for a picture!!

I can not wait for Katie and BJ’s wedding this November!!! <3

Michael and Megan Engaged! | Stephie Joy Photography

So this little couple is close to my heart. Megan is marrying my cousin Michael next May! For their engagement session, we got the privilege of the VIP treatment at Everbank Field. Both Megan and Michael are big sports fans so Megan pulled some strings and we were able to get into the stadium for part of their session! We went all around from the skyboxes to the field. It was exciting to be in the stadium when no one else was. Except, did I mention the players were there for practice? Ok….we only saw them in passing but it was still cool! We got some pretty awesome images despite the rain in the beginning of our time together.

The sunset, thanks to the rain beforehand, was amazing! It kept changing by the minute. Turning into a spectacular show….We could not have gotten luckier for this session! From VIP, NFL treatment to an amazing fire-filled sunset, Megan and Michael will have amazing pictures to remember forever! <3 I cannot wait for their wedding at Crosswater Hall in Nocatee, Fl.

I am super excited about this couple’s wedding coming up this month. From the first time I met Amanda at Panera Bread for her bridal consult, I knew we would hit it off! Amanda’s personality is so bright and vibrant, she is going to make a beautiful bride! Then on to their engagement session. Amanda and Joel are so fun together! Their chemistry is awesome. I love couples where I don’t even have to coach them on posing. I just told them to pretend I wasn’t there, and act themselves. And they did just that! I can not wait for their fun filled Club Continental wedding in Orange PArk, Florida.

Sam and Lisa are getting married next month. So I met them recently for their engagement session. Let’s just say when Lisa showed up to the park, everyone was stunned! She was beautiful!! I can only imagine how she is going to look on wedding day. We were excited to get some sunset shots during this session, because rain threatened us pretty much all day. Yes, their last name will the Kisser! I love it!! The bride to be is very special to me. Growing up, Abbey was like a little sister. Her sister, Brooke, and I have been best friends forever! My mother was in mer mom’s wedding, and now I’m shooting her wedding. I met Abbey and Shawn in Jacksonville Beach. We stopped by the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club for the beautiful fountain. And then around town for some other cool spots. Some of my faves.

Okay, just to prepare you…this is a long post. I loved almost all the images I took from this session. Cj and Rachel were so naturally in love, I just kept capturing all these great moments. Enjoy a few of my FAVES!!

I loved this old house…..We didn’t know the person who lived there, so we only snapped a few quick shots there.

The great thing about this session, was that I didn’t have to tell them to kiss ever! All the kissing and lovey doveiness was genuine!

Had to get some jumping in there!

Last week I had a contest on FACEBOOK for a FREE engagement session.

I had people entering their stories for the reasons they wanted this session. I have chosen a winning couple.

Danielle Chang and Omar Valentin! YAY!

Here is their story…

My name is Danielle Chang. My good friend Kelley Cox told me about you looking for a couple for the “Rock the Dress” or “Engagement Session”. At first when she told me about the submitting the story part, I was a little apprehensive. It is always so hard for me to write about myself. But then I figured, what the hell, and decided to go for it!

My fiance’s name is Omar Valentin. We are having a destination wedding in St. Lucia on 05/29/10…I am so excited! We wanted to do something stress free and low key. We were both raised by amazing single mothers and did not want to burden our moms with the cost of a huge lavish wedding. So, we decided to invite anyone who can join us in paradise to witness our nuptials. Omar and I will be together 7 years this April. We met through mutual friends and both were coming out of previous relationships when we met. I remember thinking he was a total jerk right before we started dating, but for once in my life, I was glad to be wrong

I knew he was someone I could be with for a long time after I returned from my study abroad trip to France. We were only dating 2 months before I went on my month long trip. He was completely amazing through the entire experience. We both purchased journals for each other and wrote in them during our time apart, then exchanged journals when I returned home. He was completely happy for me and encouraged me to do explore and see the world, and I absolutely loved that.

Now 7 years later we are the best of friends and lovers too. We still have the same attitude as we did in the beginning, be supportive, encouraging, and always cherish the time we spend together. We love to travel, ride bikes at the beach, enjoy great food, family, and friends. We always have “Chicken Wing Friday”, I look forward to it every week, it has become a staple for us. We are just really down to earth people who enjoy a good time, no matter what it is. That is pretty much us in a nutshell. Good luck with the selection process! (Of course, I hope you pick us!)

Leslie + Cory Engaged! : {Jacksonville Wedding Photographer}

Ok. More from the super early and chilly engagement session I did with Leslie and Cory on Saturday. I was so glad this couple called me, their story is so sweet. Leslie and Cory are a young couple, in love. The kicker, Cory will be leaving in April for the military. So, needless to say, they are having a short engagement. But these two are so sweet, and I could really see the love! I do have a soft spot in my heart for military and their families, because I have some family in the military. I am so thankful for all that our soldiers do for our country, even though it is sad for those they have to leave behind.

I can’t wait for their wedding in March! We had fun shooting their engagement session, so I know the wedding will be great!

Got some of the overcast sunrise! =) Love it when the sun breaks the horizon. =)

I love the front garden at the Club Continental! The patina green is my fave!

Can you believe the eyes on these two?! Gorgeous!!

We moved over to a spot that is special to Leslie and Cory. A small stretch on River Road where Cory proposed to Leslie. It was nice to be able to capture those feelings on camera.
