It’s finished!! I have been planning this editorial forever! Pretty much since I first read Breaking Dawn have I been wanting to see Bella and Edward get married….Last year I also did a fun twilight shoot just for kicks. And now I have finally completed Bella and Edward’s wedding! I will say it is “inspired” by the actual book characters, with some details from the 5 second movie trailer that came out in September. I had a blast planning all the little details that went into this editorial. Even using some pieces from my personal collections…

I had the pleasure in working with some great wedding vendors in Jacksonville, Florida.

New Macro fun!

Sooo… I just got a new lens…no wedding photographer is complete with out a macro lens. Ok, that’s not true, but it sure is an awesome compliment to my camera bag. The second I got home from seeing Transformers 3, My shiny new B&H box was sitting on the front step. Thank you UPS man!! I break open the box and my own wedding rings to try it out. Wedding ring detail shots are so fun to try and make interesting. There are many things one can do to add interest. Here are a couple of my first tries with the new lens (sigma 105mm f2.8 Macro for Canon).

I LOVE crafting just as much as I love photography sooooo…why not combine both? I crated these fancy little SLR camera straps, designed to be fabulous! I love fun stuff and was bored with the red and black stiff and scratchy camera strap. I wanted to dress up my camera! So this is what I came up with!

I would love one day to have photographers everywhere wearing a Stephie Joy Camera Strap! Gotta dream!

Just in time for Christmas……..Ok…so I have been in search of a camera bag FOR-EV-VER {The Sandlot}. I even purchased another big name bag and returned it just before trying the Epiphanie “Lola” bag. I needed a super functional bag that could carry all my lenses, for those fun shoots and day trips with the kids. Not only did the bag need to be functional, but it obviously had to be ultra PRETTY!! When I first started looking I came across Epiphanie bags. The Lola only came in red, not my favorite color…but I loved the style. So I kept looking….FINALLY! I saw that Epiphanie came out with two other colors. Black and Turquoise. AHHHH!!! Turquoise is one of my favorite colors! So I ordered it with fingers crossed that it would be as awesome as it looked.

It is! I’m glad to say, I LOVE THIS BAG!!!! It is beautiful, and functional. The materials are soft and comfortable to the touch. The interior fabric is soft and ultra padded to protect my investments. There are so many dividers that can be moved and configured to fit almost any amount of equipment and personal effects. With two external pockets, and one interior zippered pocket, there is enough room for my keys, money and other small items I may want to keep out of sight.

There are two shoulder straps for carrying over one shoulder like a handbag, and one cross-body strap with super comfy padding for when your shooting. the bag is pretty wide so it stands far off the body, but it’s not a problem for me. With a zippered closure, all my equipment is safe. The opening is smaller, so it may be a little tough to get the lenses out super fast, unless you arrange the pockets to help with that.

Overall…this bag is a WIN!! I love the color, the style, the comfort, the protectiveness, and how much I can fit. I LOVE my new Epiphanie LOLA. I hope this little review helps you in your search for the perfect camera bag. Now, on with the pictures! I wouldn’t be a photographer if I didn’t give my bag a proper photo shoot. -Stephie

In the bag…Camera body, 16-35mm, 50mm, and 580 speedlight. I threw some things in to see how they fit. …Oh and there were a few spots to spare.

Pumpkin Patch {stephie joy photography | personal}

Let me start by saying…Fall and Winter are my FAVORITE seasons!! Living in Florida, we pretty much have only Fall and Summer for seasons…haha. I love the coziness of the holidays and traditions with family. So, I am starting some new traditions for my kids. I took my little family to the Pumpkin Patch today. First time for both of them. And they LOVED it!! Their little eyes just lit up at the sight of all the pumpkins. They immediately ran all over pointing and laughing at the everything. I was so excited for them. I am loving cherishing every moment like this with them, and am looking forward to starting a bunch of new traditions.

I took my family out this morning to take some shots before my baby boy turned one next month. He is such a blessing. I can’t believe I have had him for 11 months already. It feels like we just brought him home from the hospital. He gets sweeter every day!

Not all the moments have been walks in the park, but I still cherish every moment he and his sissy are little. Enjoy some of my brood doing what they do best….being kids!

Just a little fun with the camera. I just want to let it be known that I LOVE MY JOB! Photography is such a huge thing in my life now. I have always been an artist, but now I have found what avenue I shine in. PHOTOGRAPHY! I still enjoy drawing and painting, sewing and crafting. But there is something about the JOY my photography has brought to people, that make my heart happy. I love seeing my clients faces when I have captured the love they have in a simple image.

I hope to reach many more people with my work, and I am thankful to my past clients, who have brought me to where I am now. Thanks for being such GREAT clients. And many thanks to GOD for the talent he has given me. I wouldn’t be where I feel that I am today, without them! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

Ok… I need to get some good pictures of my own babies… My little man turns 3 months this week and my daughter turns 2 years old this month. How time flies!! Enjoy some of my little brood. =)

Needed a New Self-Portrait!

Today I went out and got some new shots of myself. One thing I learned today about taking a self-portrait is that it’s more difficult than it looks. I know I look super cool, and natural {lol} , but I tell you I wasn’t. It was hot even at 9 am here in Florida, and I was running back and forth from sitting to camera and back again. Anyway, I had fun and even some onlookers for this little session. More to come soon!
